Connected Autonomy: An autonomous system is a system that makes decisions and take actions independently, based on observed conditions (data). A connected collection of autonomous systems can be (much) more than its individual autonomous parts.
Artificial Intelligence: AI is the algorithmic process by which inference is made from new data by past training examples. AI is an enabler of autonomy in two ways: (i) Robotic mobility and control learned through examples and (ii) computational decision making and estimation from data using past training data experience.
