7th UTC Conference

Dear colleagues,

In view of the global concerns about COVID-19, we would like to inform you that the 7th Annual UTC Conference for the Southeastern Region, originally scheduled for March 26- 27, 2020, has been postponed to Fall 2020. The Organizing Committee is monitoring the situation and keeping updated with the recommendations being announced by the international and national public health authorities.

If you already have made travel arrangements, please be sure to cancel it as soon as possible, to avoid being charged a cancellation fee. In the near future, we will be updating the conference website with future dates. We will also email updated information regarding the conference for Fall 2020.

We want to ensure that all efforts are concentrated on the health of the participants and towards a successful conference in the near future. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Connected Vehicles in Smart Cities: The Future of Transportation and Logistics

Efficient and sustainable urban mobility is a challenge that has been in the spotlight in recent years. Research and investment in connected and autonomous vehicles around the world is advancing rapidly, and cities must prepare for the introduction of this new technology. Recent efforts aims at transforming urban environments into smart cities, where data collection and analysis is used efficiently to improve safety, optimize the transportation network, increase freight mobility, and save resources. This conference will provide an opportunity to convey the most recent autonomous transportation research innovations and focus on how Connected and Autonomous Vehicle (CAV) technologies plays a role on the smart city concept and how to advance its development even more.

Hosted by the Freight Mobility Research Institute (FMRI) at Florida Atlantic University (FAU)

This annual conference was established in 2013 by a consortium of University Transportation Centers (UTCs) to bring together transportation professionals from both the private and public sectors, faculty, and students from all over the southeastern region. The goal of the conference is to disseminate information about UTC research and encourage collaboration on future projects.
