Trujillo

David F. Trujillo

David F. Trujillo & Associates, LLC

David F. Trujillo leads a multi-faceted team under the umbrella of David F. Trujillo & Associates, LLC that provides external evaluation, program development and proposal writing services to Hispanic-Serving Institution across the country. He has conducted external evaluation of Title III Part A, Title III Part B, Title III Part C, Title V and Title III Part F projects from 1982 to the present. His focus is on assisting grantees with using their Federal award to drive institutional change and capacity building. Programmatically, this external evaluation work has focused on access and equity, outreach to pre-college students, student success, transfer and pathways/"pipeline" initiatives. He is retired from the University of New Mexico, where he served as the Director of Grants, Special Initiatives and Title V at the University of New Mexico's Taos Branch. Previously, Mr. Trujillo was Dean of Grants and Sponsored Programs and Interim President at Northern New Mexico College; Director of Grants and Sponsored Programs at New Jersey City University; and Director of Community and Special Projects at the University of Southern Colorado. He has thirty years of experience working at Title III-eligible institutions. Additionally, Mr. Trujillo is Founder, Past President and current Vice President for Strategic Initiatives of the Alliance of HSI Educators (AHSIE), a national organization that sponsors an annual Best Practices Conference and other professional development events for HSI practitioners. Mr. Trujillo holds two degrees in English from San Jose State University and has taken doctoral-level educational leadership coursework at the University of Northern Colorado and the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs

Salazar

Andres C. Salazar, Ph.D.

Dr. Andres C. Salazar (Andy) is Research Professor at the University of New Mexico (UNM) and President of Suntek Industries, Inc., a consulting firm he formed in 1984 which currently specializes in consulting and research of higher education issues, especially in STEM, that face students from low-income minority backgrounds. In the latter role he assists in college-instructor development programs and in the evaluation of projects funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) or programs supported by the U.S. Department of Education (Title III or Title V) at colleges in California, Colorado, Florida, New Mexico and Texas. Salazar is a member of the American Evaluation Association and has also been a frequent reviewer of project submissions which solicit funding from the Minority Student Education Improvement Program (MSEIP). Salazar is a PhD graduate in electrical engineering from Michigan State University, an MBA graduate of Heriot-Watt University (U.K.), and holds a BA in Math (with distinction), BSEE (with distinction) and MSEE degrees from the University of New Mexico.
